The federal law authorizing the Head Start program, Public Law 110-134 "Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007", requires the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to submit reports to Congress on a scheduled basis. Occasionally Congress requests additional reports on special topics.
