Dual Language Learner Celebration Week

Typically scheduled in the third week of February, this annual celebration is all about children who are dual language learners (DLLs) and their families. DLL Celebration Week is presented virtually by the Office of Head Start (OHS), the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL), and the National Center on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (NCPFCE).

From Feb. 20–23, 2024, we’re showcasing the updated Multicultural Principles for Early Childhood Leaders and other great presentations featuring experts from OHS, NCECDTL, and NCPFCE. Help spread the word using the digital toolkit featured below!

Hello,

Let's celebrate! Dual Language Learner Celebration Week is being held Feb. 20–23, 2024 on Facebook Live. This annual week-long celebration honors children who are dual language learners and their families. We’re excited to introduce the newly updated Multicultural Principles for Early Childhood Leaders, a resource that promotes and honors the cultural diversity of children and families enrolled in Head Start programs. During the virtual festivities on Facebook Live, you’ll hear from experts and colleagues, including Khari M. Garvin, director of the Office of Head Start. Join us to gain knowledge on ways program leaders and educators can implement strategies to value and preserve the languages spoken or signed by Head Start children and families.

We hope to see you there!
