Child Oral Health

Oral health is an important part of a child’s overall health and well-being. Children with good oral health tend to eat well, sleep well, and develop well. A child’s oral health also makes a big difference in their ability to learn.

Childhood is a time when injuries to the head, face, and mouth are common, usually due to falls or other accidents. Families and Head Start staff play an important role in preventing oral injuries and providing first aid.
