Reunification

Icon of two bandaids making a plus signSafely returning children to their parents/guardians after an emergency begins to bring children and families back to normalcy. Preparing for this by keeping up-to-date emergency contact information for each child in your emergency kit can help provide structure around this process. As discussed in previous chapters, make sure you are communicating with parents/guardians throughout the emergency, if possible. This communication may help the reunification process begin more quickly,
as parents/guardians may be able to safely pick up their children sooner.
