Email Subscriptions

E-blast mailing lists are generated through the Head Start Enterprise System (HSES) and through user subscriptions on the ECLKC. Recipients subscribed through HSES must be removed from HSES by their program or office.

General ECLKC users may use their email address to sign up for free Head Start updates and to access subscriber preferences. They can opt to receive updates and newsletters based on areas of interest and can unsubscribe at any time.

National Centers are encouraged to promote their subscription lists and invite potential users to subscribe. If they have collected email addresses during early childhood conferences and events, they must submit the email addresses to the Head Start Information and Communications Center to be added to the appropriate subscription list.

At the discretion of the Office of Head Start, new subscription options can be added to the ECLKC Subscribe page. Consider creating a separate list if you are:

  • Targeting a unique role (e.g., parents, mental health consultants, home visitors)
  • Highlighting a specific issue (e.g., disabilities, transportation)
  • Sending with a high frequency (e.g., allow users to opt-in to a weekly newsletter while sending e-blasts less often to your central list)

Newsletters that cover a broad subject area or are appropriate for large audiences should be sent to the larger National Center lists.
